a historic escape

The Thames Street Guest House is an Italianate Victorian home built in 1869 and designed by renowned architect George Champlin Mason.

We are located steps from Newport’s downtown and waterfront/harbor areas and just a block away from the Newport County Convention and Visitors Bureau, which provides extensive information on area attractions, restaurants and shopping as well as a hub for bus, trolley & taxi transportation. Newport’s famous scenic Ocean Drive, Bellevue Avenue with its famed historic mansions, and several museums, art galleries and our beautiful beaches are less than a 10 minute drive.

We have been happy to welcome visitors from all over the world over the past 15+ years and are proud to have many guests returning to stay with us whenever they are in Newport. We are pleased to be considered family-friendly and welcome guests with children. Please consider staying with us and becoming a part of our Thames Street Guest House family.

We can't wait to see you.
